Renie Daisey

Renie Daisey

USFS Professional Coach and Wichita Ice Center Level 4 Private Coach

Ms. Daisey, a former Pacific Coast Sectional and US National competitor known for her technical and artistic strengths, began her teaching career in 1962 in California.

A seasoned professional, she instructed, coached, and has been responsible for having trained skaters of all levels and ages from basic skills up through high levels of competition with emphasis on strong technical fundamentals while instilling the art and joy of skating.

Renie also exercised her entrepreneurial strengths, having built a high altitude training and community recreation facility in California. She later went on to take over and finish the start up of a large multi-use recreational facility in Utah serving as the Arena Manager and Skating Director in both facilities.

Actively involved in the skating world, and having taught in six major US skating cities, she is pleased to bring her experience and teaching skills to Wichita.

Jesse Ferris Nightingale

Jesse Ferris Nightingale

USFS Professional Coach, Wichita Ice Center Level 3 Private Coach, and Learn to Skate Director

When Jesse started skating at the age of eight, she got on the ice and never looked back. Her love for the sport has driven her to compete at Regional competitions, earn a bronze model at Nine States Championships, and achieve gold medals in Moves in the Field and Solo Free Dance. As a double gold medalist, she is currently competing at the Junior level and aiming for her Gold Medals in Freestyle and Pattern Dance.

Jesse coaches low- to high-level skaters in Moves in the Field, Freestyle, Ice Dance, Off-Ice Training, Power, Edges, Choreography, and Hockey Edges and Power. Jesse also has years of experience teaching group classes of varying ages and levels and is the Learn to Skate Director at the Wichita Ice Center.

In addition to competing and coaching, Jesse is a music composer and pianist. She is a junior at Wichita State University and majors in Digital Arts with minors in Music and English Language and Literature. She is a member of the Cohen Honor College, a Rudd Foundation Scholar, and has been named to the Dean’s Honor Roll with a 4.0 every semester she has attended.

Through her many years of competing and coaching, Jesse has learned that figure skating teaches courage in the face of fear and setbacks, determination and perseverance when everything seems to go wrong, and the grace to accept failure. Skating has brought her so much joy, and she aims to bring that joy and love for skating to every student she teaches.

Svetlana’s passion for figure skating began at the age of three. That passion continued to grow and led to her competitive skating journey at the age of 10. She continues to compete in multiple testing sessions, shows, and competitions across the United States.

Svetlana has been a Wichita Ice Center employee for over three years. She also serves on the Junior Advisory Council for the Wichita Figure Skating Club. She has a great understanding of the rink’s schedules, user groups, and programs. As an online student, Svetlana offers flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of your skater.

Svetlana is also an instuctor with Learn to Skate USA. She has experience teaching a variety of different levels from first-time skaters in Snowplow Sam classes to the more experienced skaters in Freeskate.

With experience teaching Moves in the Field, Freestyle, and off-ice training, Svetlana wants to help get your skater on track. Her philosophy is to achieve your goals by working hard, staying focused, but most importantly having fun on the journey to being the best you can be.

Kori has been skating for nine years and competing for eight years. She is an Intermediate level skater. Kori can teach low-mid levels of skaters. She has two years of experience in group Learn to Skate classes.

Esther Liu

Esther’s interest in skating sparked the moment she set her eyes on the indoor skating rink at the Dallas Galleria Mall. Her journey began at the age of eight and has brought her to compete in and win multiple regional competitions as well as those in the National Qualifying Series. She is currently competing in the Intermediate level and is aiming for her gold medals in Freestyle and Moves in the Field.

Esther coaches beginning and low- to mid-level skaters in Moves in the Field and Freestyle. She also has experience teaching group classes of varying ages and levels in the Learn to Skate program at the Wichita Ice Center.

Outside of skating, Esther attends Wichita East High School, where she is part of the International Baccalaureate program and is working toward an IB diploma with high math and science HL tests. She is heavily involved in speech and debate and has competed on the national circuit, as well as medaled in multiple state championships.

Figure skating has challenged Esther mentally and physically. The ability to work hard toward her goals and pick herself up has stemmed from her experiences as a competitive skater. She hopes to share and bring these life lessons, characteristics, and admiration for skating to her students and many others.
